I have just made this tomato soup with the addition of carrots and
chilli. Delicious.

For a more substantial and full bodied tomato soup... I added 2
organic leeks .. chopped finely and gently fried with white onions
and garlic. I also cooked some risoni pasta which looks like
rice only slightly larger but is great in soups. This is a wholesome
soup and makes a great starter with a difference. An option is to
grate a little cheese on top just before serving. Both farmhouse
cheddar or parmesan turns it into a little bit of a luxury. Serve
with some lightly toasted French stick slices or any of your
favourite bread .. garlic bread is a good accompaniment. Taste
and enjoy. Everyone whom I have made this for always ask for the
recipe. It is truly gorgeous.

Basil was a bit overpowering but the tomato soup was deeeeliscious.

Just made this using a variety of tomatoes (it's that time of year
when they are coming out of the greenhouse much faster than we can
eat them). This soup is delicious-best I've tasted. Will make again
& again.

Will definitely make this tomato soup again as I have an abundance
of large plum tomatoes. They made a superb soup; but admit I added
one large red chilli and a couple of carrots, omitting the star
anis.
